Q&A

What was your favorite book as a child?

“Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Jules Verne

Do you remember the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?

My first poem was in third grade, written for my teacher to express how much I'd miss her during winter break. I think I must have really enjoyed the act of creation, and the surprise and encouragement from parents and teachers, because I never stopped writing after that.

What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?

While hitchhiking from Budapest, a friend and I spontaneously accepted an invitation to stay with the driver's community in the country for a couple of days. It was a beautiful place full of artists, and we had a great time, but in hindsight it was a crazy, and potentially dangerous, idea!

Do you listen to music while reading or writing?

I don't because I'm easily distracted and would just end up humming along. I do, however, often find inspiration in music.
